FAQ

Until when can I cancel my reservation?

Standard Rate: According to the cancellation policy, guests can cancel their reservation until 5 full days before their arrival. Unfortunately after that time, no cancellations and/or modifications can be accepted.

Important:

If you need to modify or cancel your reservation, please do not wait until the last minute as it will be impossible for us to help you. The reason why hostels establish a time-limit to cancel or modify reservations is so they are given an opportunity to re-sell the beds that theywere holding for their guests.

Last minute cancellations are almost impossible to re-allocate, especially in low season.  In order to avoid misunderstanding, and to make sure that all emails were received correctly, modifications and/or cancellations will be reconfirmed by the hostel via email soon after receiving the guest’s request.

If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, you must contact the hostel again to make sure that your email actually reached the hostel in the first place.

Non-refundable Rate: These bookings can not be cancelled or modified.

When can I check in?

You can check in from 1 pm onwards – If you arrive earlier you may leave your bags at the hostel until the official check-in time. Please, remember to inform us your approximate arrival time so we can coordinate your check in. An original valid ID (with photo) is required.

When do I have to check out?

Check out time is at 10.30 am as we need to prepare the rooms for the next guests.

Where can I leave my luggage before checking in or after checking out?

We offer free storage facilities to our guests.

Is the sales tax (IVA) included in the price?

Yes!

Why is the Barcelona Tourist tax not included in the price?

The Catalan Government introduced this tax in 2012, which must be calculated upon arrival according to city regulations applicable at the time of the check in .

What happens if I forget to bring towels?

How many people use the shared bathrooms?

It is difficult to estimate how many people use each bathroom because guests are free to choose any of them. There is approximately one bathroom for every two rooms, so in general guests don’t have to wait. They are conveniently located next to the rooms so there is no need to walk more than a few steps to reach the nearest one.

What are the shared bathrooms like?

All bathrooms are individual – so space and privacy are guaranteed – They are cleaned (and disinfected) several times a day so they are usually in perfect condition.

Are there any laundry facilities?

We have an outdoor area where guests can hand wash and hang small items. In addition we provide a laundry service for a small fee. Important: Please note that it is not permitted to wash clothing in the bathrooms or hang anything to dry inside the hostel because it will damage our facilities and guests will have to reimburse the hostel for any resulting repairs.

Why is the hostel unable to accept stag/hen parties?

We are not a party-hostel. We aim to provide a reasonably quiet, secure and friendly atmosphere where guests can relax, chat and enjoy their stay in Barcelona.

How do the free lockers work?

We provide one free locker per reservation in shared dorms- No padlocks are necessary as we provide a key.

What kind of activities does the hostel organize?

Usually we organize fun activities two or three times a week (depending on the time of the year) such as a Flamenco Show Outing, Tapas night, Paella night, etc. In addition, a free walking tour company picks up our guests on daily basis for the Gothic quarter and/or Gaudi Tour.

Are families with children allowed?

Families are always very welcome in our hostel – Some of the Superior rooms may have space to set up an extra bed or a cot for babies up to 3 years, however, guests must contact the hostel before booking to find out the price and conditions for this. Also contact us if you are travelling with children so that we can find the best way to accommodate your family.

What are the age restrictions for the mixed dorms?

Being a “youth hostel” we must provide space for students and young travelers, so we created the shared mixed dorms for them. For this reason, families travelling with children under 7 years, and guests over 45 years must book private rooms or entire dorms. Feel free to contact the hostel if you need help to book.

Can I print my travel documents at the hostel?

Yes, we have printing service for our guests.

Where can I park my car?

In case you need to park your car, contact the hostel in advance to find out your options. Make sure to specify your dates and your estimated arrival time so we can better assist you.
